Invest In the Latest AI Trends Wisely, Cuz You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet!
My goal is simple: to help small business owners see beyond the hype to make informed choices. Before making major investments, it's critical to make sure you account for the inexpensive low-hanging fruit of today while keeping an eye on whats ahead.
In my last blog, we discussed the AI Agent craze, from out-of-the-box add-on widgets that nominally speed up production cycles, to what’s brewing with truly Agentic AI, and everything in-between. Agents are the next worthwhile evolution in any AI tech stack when understood and used strategically, most often to solve defined business problems after successfully adopting other foundational AI tools. Key word successfully. Layer them properly and....Stop. Chasing. Quick. Fixes!
BECAWSE there’s a whole new layer of emerging tech hardware I want to discuss that’s been slowly simmering on the back burner while the AI apps housed in familiar devices are crackling and popping up front, getting all the attention! that’s been slowly simmering on the back burner while the AI apps housed in familiar devices are crackling and popping up front, getting all the attention!
You see, it's like we're all just giant lobsters in slowly warming water, being gradually acclimated to AI and ambient tech before the heat gets turned up. And that's where everything going on right now with wearables, smart devices morphing into smart environments, and AR/VR tech comes into play. These will all take the leap from techie/gamer gadgets and start to transform how we work sooner than you think. And LGBTQ business professionals are wise to be on the leading edge of the shift to secure their advantage....

Picture it: Sicily, 1928...(I kid, I kid) Your Workspace 2028.
You walk in wearing a screenless, touchless wearable. Perhaps a pinky ring or a bracelet as you opt for your cute analog watch that day. It reads your biofeedback, sees you’re stressed and mildly dehydrated, and without you lifting a finger the device communicates with the smart environment to make the lights dim, ambient noise softly play, you're prompted to do a short breathing exercise, and the admin is sent a message to grab you a bottle of water. Minutes later, you drop into a virtual meeting wearing lightweight AR glasses and collaborate with others in a shared space equipped with 3-D dashboards. Its not something out of a sci-fi movie. Its where advances in AI tech, computing power, and the internet of things converge to propel us into a new reality where we're less attached to the bright screens of our smartphones (they had a good 20-year run) and less reliant on our iPhone apps to control everything.
Wait Until Smart Environments & Wearbles Get into a LTR...
Welcome immersive "metaverse"style 3D spaces for client walk throughs & demos, remote coaching, employee training, and team brainstorming! The space between in-office and virtual work.
Movies got it into our heads that the future is going to be all about the robots. Nah. Those suckers are expensive and creep people out! Plus you know, raw materials, manufacturing, world domination. All that. I mean did my AI knock-off Sophia up there give you the warm and fuzzies? And who needs all that when we're already used to all these 'smart' gadgets everywhere and we have YOU.
Oh, you. With your fancy earbuds, smartwatch, GIS tracking beacon brick (i mean smartphone) and little Oura Ring. You're already all the robot we need, bae. There just need to be a few adjustments to make those pieces into a whole. Your wearable smart devices of some variation will be the remote, with your known biometric markers and patterns serving as the password and authenticator. Welcome to your new company, here's your identification bracelet!
Right now our "smart" devices (not long ago a marvel of modern tech) by themselves often seem like they stumbled off the short bus. Largely tied to our phones through apps with clunky integrations and driven by voice commands with the oh so hard of hearing and apathetic "Alexa" (and her Apple and Google cousins) are the closest thing we have to a central hub to control our enviornment. But as all that IoT tech continues to mature, AI models advance, and wearables continue their rise, is it so hard to fathom that a simple receiver device will recognize the smart wearables coming into its geofencing as you approach? And know exactly how to command the various smart devices around you? Each unobtrusively and continously observing their own data. Yeah, that what I mean by Ambient AI. Bye Commands, hello Context driven by hundreds of passive data points....
- Brandon's calendar show he is hosting a meeting at 2pm in this conference room and is 25 feet away, lets start prepping the room.
- He's in the room and automatically authenticated based on a quick scan of biometrics. Lets tee up the screencast and get the meeting ready. Or, better yet, lets get the VR glasses and "Metaverse" meeting space ready.
- Bob is coming to join, let me flicker the lights to warn Brandon and turn the temperature down a few degrees, he runs hot and Brandon will still be within his tolerance.
Feeling Out of Your Element or Like It's All Too Much? 😬
That's what I'm here for! You can build a respectable AI stack for under $50 a month right now that multiplies your output to that of several employees. Well, when you know how to use it right toward defined business goals and quit wasting your time on silly hacks.
It's all about grabbing the low-hanging fruit, my little fruit. 🍑🍒🍓
So you can do more with less, scale smarter, and invest wisely in tech that drives results.
